INVITATION OF TRAINING EXPERT IN R&D SCHEME  MALAY 

Under this scheme, local research institutions or universities could be given grant or financial support to acquire the services of training experts or consultants for the purpose of providing specific, hands-on training in R&D priority areas to researchers at local research institutions and universities.

The objective of this scheme is to increase the capability, ability and efficiency of researchers and support officers in conducting a research work.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. The experts to be invited should be renowned in their field of study and they could be of local or foreign origin.
  2. The experts have indicated their willingness to conduct the training, and they will be the main trainers in the course.
  3. The experts are to be invited by a local research institution or a research centre in a local public university, which will convene a training course in a particular scientific discipline that is of national R&D interest .
  4. The training programme is outlined in such a way that it will bring the utmost benefit and impact to a multi-institutional participants invited to attend the training course.
  5. The cost of inviting the expert which could be sponsored by this scheme is limited to their travelling expenses, accommodation, meals, honorarium or professional /service fees, if any. Please refer to the rates quoted by SPP Bil. 19/2002 and PP Bil. 3/2003. Any rates higher than those quoted in the circulars must get approval from Ministry Of Finance (MOF). Any other cost incurred for running the training course need to be borne by the convener.
  6. The duration of the training course should not exceed 4 weeks. A training course that exceeds 4 weeks will need to be approved under special circumstances.

How To Apply

  1. Application is open throughout the year, and application forms must be submitted through the respective Head of Department/Institutions to the HCD (STI) Programme Secretariat .
  2. Application will be considered by HCD (STI) Steering Committee Meeting and the decision made is final.
  3. Application must be submitted through Head of Department/Dean and supported by Institutional Centre for R&D Management.
  4. Application must be submitted at least 2 months prior to the proposed training course.

Required documents to be uploaded by applicants (* Mandatory)

  1. * proposal.
  2. * Identification card (for Malaysian citizens)/ Passport page to verified passport number(foreigners).
  3. * Expert's CV (most recent passport size photograph)
  4. * Copy of approval letter from MOF (if required).
