This scheme provides an opportunity for scientists or researchers from local research institutions and universities to obtain hands-on training through this attachment programme in an identified scientific research area and at a renowned research centre,locally or abroad, which is relevant to their on-going research works. At the end of this training attachment, the researcher is expected to gain sufficient knowledge, skill or experience which will directly contribute towards enhancing or strengthening his/her present research work.

Form Of Assistance

1. Length of attachment
   1. Minimum - 14 days
   2. Maximum - 3 months
2. Successful candidates will receive financial assistance for their transportation cost, living allowance / attachment fees, and other relevant allowances.
3. During the attachment period, candidates will be given Full Paid Study Leave from their employers.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Malaysian citizens working in the public sector and have been confirmed in their position;
2. An active researcher, member of an active research group and possess a research grant.
3. Topic of research is of national interest and the expected outcome will eventually contribute to socio-economic development;
4. Proposed place of the attachment, and proposed supervisor that relevant to the on-going research work
5. The amount of scholarship/allowance is based on the rate specified by the Public Service Department.

How To Apply

1. Application is open throughout the year, and application forms must be submitted through the respective Head of Department/Institutions to the HCD (STI) Programme Secretariat .
2. The attachment scheme is based on an on-going research and the applicant must identify the lab, university, industry or the said relevant research center local or overseas.
3. Application will be considered by HCD (STI) Steering Committee Meeting and the decision made is final.
4. Application must be submitted through Head of Department/Dean and supported by institutional centre for R&D management.

1. * Identification card.
2. * Applicants most recent passport size photograph.
3. Academic certificates (Diploma/ * Bachelor Degree/Master/ * Ph.D).
4. * Research proposal and Gantt Chart.
5. * Justification of needs.
6. * Offer letter from university/institution with rate of fees.
7. * Supporting letter from Head of Department/Division.
8. * Approval letter from Dean of Faculty/Director of Agency.
